SOL & LUNE
"The Solar-Lunar Sanctuary — A low-slung brutalist luxury beachfront haven of 14 private pool villas, terracotta pizzeria, and the sculptural Lunar Pavilion along the Cha-am coastline."
Architecture reduced to elemental shelter: where brutalist geometry, dense coastal greenery, and the hypnotic solar-lunar cycle sculpt a sanctuary of contemplative oceanfront seclusion.
BLUEPRINTS & CONCEPTUAL DRAWINGS
Evocative: The Thesis of Brutalist Coastal Seclusion
Conceived as an unbuilt beachfront hospitality master concept along an 8,000-square-meter coastal expanse in Cha-am, SOL & LUNE investigates the poetic tension between solid monumental form and fragile coastal ecology. Rather than a repetitive multi-story tower, the architecture dissolves into 14 private pool villas and sensory pavilions structured along a rhythmic green spine:
- I. The Monumental Arrival: A fluted travertine monolithic portal that filters out external velocity, guiding guests through dense botanical courtyards into the open-air lobby pavilion.
- II. The Sanctuary Spine: A sunken shaded walkway enveloped in dense living hedgerows and mature canopy trees, creating a secluded procession between private villa clusters and the ocean.
- III. Brutalist Pool Residences (Type S & Type L2): Raw, board-marked fair-faced concrete volumes punctured by double-height glazed openings, featuring private courtyards, secluded plunge pools, and private open-air showers.
- IV. The Lunar Pavilion & Beach Club: An iconic sculptural crescent pavilion framing the sea horizon, acting as an illuminated celestial altar for gathering under the night sky.
- V. Terracotta Pizzeria & Dining: Earthy rammed-earth and terracotta arches framing wood-fired culinary craft and maritime sunset views.
- VI. Deluxe Ocean Suites: Monumental concrete private retreats with panoramic ocean balconies and bespoke curved timber craftsmanship.
Articulate: The Rigor of Microclimate & Material Integrity
Positioned on an exposed coastal front, every junction in Sol & Lune balances architectural purity with environmental endurance: marine-grade self-healing fair-faced concrete, deep horizontal cantilever brows for passive solar shielding, and salt-resilient native coastal flora that anchors the microclimate and ensures ecological longevity.
